2025 UCC Scholarship Awards Ceremony and Awardees Symposium

The Students’ Financial Support Office (StuFSO) organized its annual UCC Scholarship Awards Ceremony and Awardees Symposium on Thursday 16th May, 2025. The event recognized the academic achievements of three hundred and thirty-two (332) students who received partial or full. The University offered scholarship to the tune of GhC 460,289.00 whilst the School of Business Development Fund spent GhC 192,954.00 which reinforces our commitment to removing financial barriers and empowering students to achieve their academic goals.

The Chairperson of the event, Prof. Daniel Apaak, higlighted the transformative impact of the UCC scholarship scheme. Addressing the audience, Dr. Samuel Kwesi Nkansah, Chair of the Scholarship Selection Sub-Committee, detailed the rigorous and transparent selection process that ensures fairness. He noted challenges such as complacency and entitlement among applicants, urging students to remain responsible and actively study to retain their scholarships.

A highlight of the event was the symposium, featuring three insightful presentations aimed at equipping students with skills critical for their academic and professional journeys.

Dr. Kyeremeh Tawiah Dabone:

“Prioritizing Mental Health: Strategies for Well-Being and Resilience”

Dr. Kwabena Antwi-Konadu

“Harnessing the Power of Body Language for Effective Public Speaking”

Dr. Phanuel Wunu

“Juxtaposing the Principles of Project Management with School Life for Academic Excellence”

Each presentation was followed by a lively Q&A session, fostering meaningful interaction and deeper understanding among attendees.

The 2025 UCC Scholarship Awards and Symposium exemplify the university’s holistic approach to student development—combining financial support with opportunities to build essential life skills. Through such initiatives, UCC continues to nurture well-rounded graduates prepared to excel both academically and professionally.
