ABIGAIL CUDJOE WINS BEST GRADUATING AWARDEE OF THE 56TH ANNUAL CONGREGATION

At the 6th session of the 56th Congregation, the Students’ Financial Support Office under the Office of the Vice Chancellor took the opportunity to honor the overall best graduating awardee. This award was presented to Ms. Abigail Cudjoe, a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) student. Ms. Abigail Cudjoe applied for the UCC scholarship in level 200 on the 23rd October, 2021. In her personal essay, she stated that after her mother passed away and she was abandoned by her father. She was therefore left in the care of her aunt with her other five siblings. This led to financial overdependency on her aunt. As a result, she was unable to afford some personal and educational materials left alone paying her tuition fees. Amidst all this, she was keen on her academics. She demonstrated exceptional academic prowess throughout her journey, earning her the best female Accounting student at the 2021 School of Business Dean’s Award. Being awarded the UCC Scholarship for two consecutive academic years enabled her to complete her academic journey without struggling to pay for her tuition fees. Ms. Cudjoe envisions to be an astute auditor and philanthropist. She is particularly passionate about lending a helping hand to the less privileged in society so that they can also gain access to education.

Her hard work and determination to academic success made her attained a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.9354 setting her apart from other awardees and making her the overall best graduating awardee.

At the congregation, the Pro Vice Chancellor, Mrs. Rosemond Boohene who is also the Chairperson of the Office and Ms. Grace Mensah, the Head of the Office presented a cash prize of GHC 1,000.00, a citation and a plague to Ms. Cudjoe for her exceptional academic performance. She expressed profound gratitude to the Office and the University for assisting her financially and helping her achieve her academic goals.

The Students’ Financial Support Office says a big congratulations to Ms. Abigail Cudjoe. Her dedication, resilience and passion has earned her this honor. The Office is committed to offering unwavering support to Needy but brilliant students like herself, in the university to help them excel academically and develop holistically. Ms. Abigail Cudjoe’s resilience and academic success has created an indelible a mark for other awardees to emulate to achieve academic excellence. This award serves as an inspiration to other awardees reminding them that hard work and dedication can lead to a remarkable achievement in academics.
