GNPC FOUNDATION ORGANIZES AN ORIENTATION FOR COHORT 5 UCC BENEFICIARIES

The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) Foundation scholarship provides full financial support to brilliant but financially needy undergraduate and postgraduate Ghanaian students offering academic programmes in STEM (Agricultural Sciences, Special Education, Environment). Their scholarship covers tuition fees, housing, living expenses, and learning materials. The duration of the scholarship is four years for undergraduates and two years for postgraduates. This year, the GNPC Foundation has offered full scholarship to One Hundred and Fifty-six (156) students of the University of Cape Coast for 2022/2023 Academic Year. This group of beneficiaries’ constituents the COHORT 5. The GNPC Foundation has sponsored University of Cape Coast students over the past six years.

Mr. Michael Anokwah Kwakye, the GNPC Liaison officer for University of Cape Coast and Cape Coast Technical University (CCTU) organised the orientation to welcome the new beneficiaries and explain their privileges and responsibilities as a GNPC Scholars. Since the Students’ Financial Support Office coordinates all external scholarships, the office collaborated with the foundation to orient the fresh beneficiaries. Ms. Esther Dede Azzu and Ms. Joyce Okoampah Gyampo from the Students’ Financial Support Office spoke on academic excellence and the appropriate conduct of scholars.

The orientation for GNPC COHORT 5 scholars took place on 10th July, 2023 at the New Academic Board Chamber. The Executives of GNPC Foundation Scholars Association assisted in making this event a success.
